
BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College softball team took the field on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with a tough doubleheader loss to Orange Coast, dropping the first game 14-1 and the second game 4-3.
In game one, was all Orange Coast, as they exploded for 14 runs on 15 hits. Bakersfield's lone run came in the first inning on an RBI groundout from Serenity Angulo, but the offense was stifled by the Pirates, who pitched three perfect innings in relief with seven strikeouts.
In game 2, Orange Coast struck early with two runs in the first inning and held off the Renegade's late push to secure a 4-3 victory. BC's Brylee Bramhall tripled and drove in a run, while Serenity Angulo added an RBI single. Despite a strong relief effort from OC, who recorded five strikeouts in three innings, the Renegades couldn't complete the comeback.
