BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College baseball team secured a thrilling 9-8 victory over Taft in a high-scoring affair at home, improving to 3-3 on the season. Despite being outhit 12-9, the Renegades capitalized on key scoring opportunities, using a four-run fifth inning to take control of the game.
Ben Ullyott led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Isaac Torres delivered a clutch three-run triple to help Bakersfield maintain the lead. Jordan Brito and Jordan Mora also contributed offensively, each scoring twice, with Mora driving in a run.
On the mound, Elliott Radney tossed six solid innings, allowing five runs (three earned) while striking out four. Andres Rivera (1-0) picked up the win in relief, while Kaleb Pinedo closed the door in the ninth to earn the save.
The Renegades will be back at home tomorrow against Allan Hancock. With rain expected in the forecast, the game has been moved to 4:00 pm.
