Paul has been a part of the BC Football coaching staff since 2004; coaching both wide receivers and quarterbacks. In 2020 he moved into the role of offensive analyst.
Prior to BC he coached at Wasco High School from 2001-03 as a quarterback coach, passing coordinator and offensive coordinator. He has coached a number of players that have moved on to the next level including:
- 2005 Taj Smith (Syracuse- Indianapolis Colts): First team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-American.
- 2005 Jon Nunez (Nevada Reno): All Conference Honorable Mention
- 2006 TJ Lee (East Carolina): First team All-Conference and JC Grid-Wire All-American.
- 2007 Brandon Banks (Kansas State-Washington Redskins/ Hamilton Tigercats – CFL 2019 MVP): First team All-Conference and JC Grid-Wire All-American.
- 2007 Attrail Snipes (Kansas State): Second team All-Conference.
- 2007 Dashan Miller (Akron): Second team All-Conference.
- 2009 Rishard Mathews (Nevada Reno-Miami Dolphins/Tennessee Titans/ Philadelphia Eagles): First team All-Conference and All-State selection.
- 2009 Vince Van Horne (Middle Tennessee State): Second team All-Conference.
- 2009 William Randle (Tarleton State): Second team All-Conference.
- 2010 Brandon Hobdy (Southern Arkansas): First team All-Conference.
- 2010 George Robbins (East Central Oklahoma).
- 2010 Loren Kolb (Harding University).
- 2012 and 2014 Marquis Johnson (commit to Baylor): First team All-Conference and All-State selection.
- 2012 Mike Dunn TE/WR: First team All-Conference, All-State, and All-American.
- 2012 Chaz Adams (Texas A&M Kingsville)
- 2014 and 2016 Derrick Vickers (University of Utah): First team All-Conference, All-State, and All-American.

Paul was a football student athlete at BC from 1990-91 and then played at McPherson College.
He holds a B.S. in Agriculture Business from McPherson College and an M.A. in Business Organization from the University of Phoenix.
Paul lives in Bakersfield with his wife, Valerie and four sons – Andrew, Randy, Chandler and Daniel.
