BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College women's wrestling team traveled up North to Sacramento, CA to compete at the Sacramento City College women's open. Freshman Celia Esquivel won her match against Ayala from Simpson University which she lost to at the Cerritos Open. Leslie DeAnda had a repeat match against Palacencia from Simpson University and was up 8-0 before Palacencia reversed her for the fall. Kaleena Pad was matched against the #1 seed and champion for the 110lb weight class in the first round, but showed great defense in both that match and the match against Mt. Sac. Alina Hernandez won two of her matches against 3C2A teams and had a great first tournament of the season.
