BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College swimming program would like to announce the commitment of sophomore Audrey Franco to Saint Peters University in New Jersey.  

Franco will continue her collegiate athletic career on the swimming team for the Peacocks under the direction of head coach Jose Cruz. Saint Peters University is a Division I program competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Peacocks were most recognized in the past few years for making an appearance on March Madness in men's basketball, where they faced Tennessee this year, and being the first 15th rank team to advance to the Elite Eight in 2022. 

"Audrey is our only Sophomore this season and has been leading by example all season. She has been the foundation of our Distance group and has posted the best times this season in the 1650 Free and the 500 Free," said Head coach Matt Moon. "Things are looking great for the upcoming WSC Championships; she is seeded top 16 in all her individual events with her best event, 1650 free, where she is sitting in 6th place. She will be missed next season, but she will be a great addition to St. Peters University, and I am looking forward to hearing what she can accomplish!
