Softball Struggles over Canyons at Home

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Bakersfield struggled to generate offense in a 5-2 home loss to Canyons, managing just five hits against the visiting College of the Canyons Cougars. Canyons took control early, plating runs in the third and fourth innings before tacking on insurance in the sixth and seventh.

Sadie Salas provided a spark for the Renegades with an RBI double in the seventh, while Aliya Perez added an RBI groundout, but the late rally wasn't enough. Alexia Martinez pitched all seven innings for Bakersfield, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits. Despite the loss, the Renegades will look to bounce back in their next outing.

Bakersfield will host a doubleheader against El Camino on Saturday, March 29th. The first game starts at 4:00pm and the next will begin around 6:00pm.
