Softball Drops Doubleheader

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College softball struggled to find their rhythm in Tuesday's doubleheader match-up with the College of the Sequoias Giants, falling in both games.

The Renegades couldn't find its offensive groove in a 4-0 loss in the first game and a 7-0 loss in the second. Despite a solid defensive effort, the Renegades were held scoreless, managing just 10 hits total for the day.

In the first game, Sequoias capitalized on limited opportunities, scoring two runs in the second inning and adding insurance in the fifth and sixth.

Bakersfield's Serenity Angulo and Brylee Bramhall led the offense with two hits each, but the Renegades left ten runners on base. Elizabeth Alderete pitched 5.1 innings, giving up just three hits but walking six, while Angulo provided 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Serenity Angulo and Jennifer Padilla led Bakersfield offensively with two hits each, including doubles, but the team left six runners stranded. On the mound, Alexia Martinez pitched 4.2 innings, allowing five runs—four earned—while Serenity Angulo provided 2.1 innings of relief in the second game of the day.

Softball is set to head out for the road for a couple of weeks starting with a doubleheader at Fullerton this weekend.
