BC SOFTBALL OPENS '16 SEASON AT HOME THURSDAY

Ides of March? More like Doubleheaders of March for these Lady 'Gades.
Ides of March? More like Doubleheaders of March for these Lady 'Gades.

Your Bakersfield College Softball team will return to action this Thursday, January 27th at 3:00pm against Fresno City College on the home diamond in the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex at Bakersfield College.

Coach Christie Hill enters her second season as Head Coach of the Lady Gades, once again assisted by her father Arlin Hill.

Last year's team had enough pop to overcome big innings, and often times gave the home crowd seven or eight runs to cheer about in the bottom half of innings.

"This team can hit. They will be able to score runs, and we have some key sophomores returning," Coach Christie Hill said on a recent broadcast of "The Renegade Report".

Sophomore Pitcher Trinidad Lee is among those key returners. She shouldered the bulk of the Lady Gades pitching load while making things happen with her bat.

This year, she'll have a new catcher in Freshman Jordan Tomisaka, sister of last year's Felicity Tomisaka.

Coach Hill says we will have some surprises when it comes to replacing pitcher Giselle Moore, but she has one in particular who could surprise folks this Thursday.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance at vallitix.com.
