Men's Swimming Finishes 2nd Overall at WSC #1 Meet

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA - The Bakersfield College swim teams delivered a strong performance at the WSC #1 meet held at Cuesta College, competing against Cuesta, Allan Hancock, Santa Barbara City College, and College of the Canyons. The Renegade women secured a 3rd-place overall finish, while the men's team excelled with a 2nd-place overall standing.

Men's Highlights

The BC men's team dominated the relay events, winning both the 200 Medley Relay (David Hernandez, Cody Hart, Emi Ibarra, Dawson Hoff) and 200 Free Relay (Dawson Hoff, David Hernandez, Emi Ibarra, Cody Hart).

Individually, BC swimmers secured multiple first-place finishes:

  • Cody Hart sprinted to victory in both the 50 Free and 100 Free.
  • Dawson Hoff was unstoppable in the backstroke, winning both the 200 Backstroke and 100 Backstroke.
  • Emi Ibarra claimed the top spot in the 100 Fly and 200 Free.

Women's Highlights

The women's relay teams put together solid performances, with the 200 Free Relay team (Brooklyn Palmer, Ava Steward, Charlotte Champlin, Emily Ellis) finishing 3rd and the 200 Medley Relay team (Audrey Vickers, Emily Ellis, Zoe Neri, Grace Arreola) taking 4th.

Several Renegade women earned top-five individual finishes:

  • Brooklyn Palmer led the way with a 3rd-place finish in the 50 Free and a 4th-place finish in the 100 Free.
  • Audrey Vickers placed 4th in the grueling 1650 Free.
  • Grace Arreola (1650 Free), Charlotte Champlin (100 Backstroke), Emily Ellis (200 Breaststroke), and Zoe Neri (100 Fly) all placed 5th in their respective events.
