VISALIA, CA - In a tightly contested match at College of Sequoias, the Bakersfield College men's soccer team and the Sequoias' Giants played to a 1-1 draw on October 1, 2024. Both teams fought hard, but neither could find a second-half breakthrough after trading goals late in the first half.

COS opened the scoring in the 35th minute with an unassisted goal, catching Bakersfield's defense off guard. However, BC responded just five minutes later, with Jordee Magana slotting in a goal, assisted by both Christopher Gandara and Anthony Gambe.

Despite opportunities for both sides, with Bakersfield's offense recording 8 shots on goal compared to Sequoias' 7, both goalkeepers—Victor Melendez for Bakersfield and Sequoias—held their ground, each making critical saves to keep the game level. Melendez stopped 6 for the Renegades.

With this draw, Bakersfield's record now stands at 4-3-3. The Renegades will play another road match before returning home on Tuesday, October 8th to take on Allan Hancock at 4:00PM
