BC Dominates in 6-0 Victory Over LA Harbor

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College Renegade soccer team put on a commanding performance, overwhelming the visiting LA Harbor Seahawks with a 6-0 shutout at home.

In the first half, Bakersfield wasted no time establishing dominance, with Ricardo Morales opening the scoring just three minutes in, assisted by Isaiah Castaneda. The Renegades continued to apply pressure, and in the 14th minute, Jesus Cortez doubled the lead off assists from Joshua Bryant and Christopher Gandara.

BC's relentless attack didn't stop there. In the 32nd minute, Hugo Viramontes found the back of the net after being set up by Jose Munguia and Joshua Bryant, making it 3-0 heading into halftime.

The second half continued their offensive onslaught. Jesus Cortez added his second goal of the match in the 67th minute, with Jonathan Juarez and Joshua Bryant combining for the assist. Just four minutes later, Jordee Magana scored after a well-placed pass from Viramontes and another assist from Jose Munguia.

Bakersfield's final goal came in stoppage time, with Jesus Soto capping off the victory with a goal in the 90th minute, thanks to a setup by Ricardo Morales and Eric Garay.

While the Renegades's attack was impressive, their defense was equally strong. Goalkeeper Ivan Hernandez was a wall between the posts, making four saves and keeping LA Harbor off the scoresheet. The defense, led by Hernandez, Elijah Espinoza, and Ricardo Morales, smothered LA Harbor's offense, preventing them from registering a single shot on goal.

With the win, men's soccer moved to 4-3-2 on the season. Bakersfield will travel for a pair of road games before returning home to play Allan Hancock on October 8th at 4:00 pm.
