The 2015 Renegade Football team (1-6, 1-2) has had it's struggles, especially with tough scheduling that had them face three of the six best teams in the state to start the season. They've also had some late-game missteps that have cost them wins, but at the end of the day, it's the record that matters.
Cerritos College (6-1, 3-0) is sitting atop the league and is ranked 4th in the SoCal National Division, but they've had a mixed bag, performance-wise.
Cerritos struggled to run the ball against Hancock, while BC used Curtis McGregor and Isaiah Sharp as a successful one-two punch against the Bulldogs.
But receiver De'Jai Whitaker could keep Bryson Briggs and Dom Frasch busy in the secondary. Whitaker burned Hancock for 207 yards on six catches and scored three touchdowns. He's already racked up 10 touchdowns and 900 yards receiving on the season, and has only been held under 100 yards in a game three times.
QB Jimmy Walker still needs to get him the ball though, and linebackers Jordan Nichols and Gabe Artiega will show him no quarter. Along with edge rusher JoJo Hurtado, they've formed a trio of backfield penetrators who have gotten increasingly disruptive as the season has worn on.
Coupled with a healthy Dom Frasch who nearly started last week's win with an acrobating interception, the 'Gades have a chance to upset Cerritos at home.
Game time is 6pm, and the Rooter Bus leaves the Romain P. Clerou Fieldhouse at 2pm.
