College of the Canyons pushed its unbeaten streak to six after playing visiting Bakersfield College to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night.
A scoreless first half made way for a more eventful second half.
Canyons (11-3-3, 8-1-2) was first to score with a goal from sophomore Katie Russell in the 49th minute.
Russell worked her way down the left side sending in a cross to forwards Rebekah Brooks and Sascha Marcellin. Following up her cross, the ball came back across the face of the net where she powered it past the Citrus goalkeeper giving her team the lead.
Canyons continued to pressure the net with shots, barely giving the Renegades (9-4-5, 4-4-3) room to build up their attack.
However, in the 80th minute, Bakersfield made its way down to COC's goal and was awarded a penalty kick where Renegade Olga Amador put it past sophomore Kyle Yuzon.
Yuzon (6-3-3) started in net for the Cougars and played a full 90 minutes with four saves and one goal against.
Despite out-shooting Bakersfield 17-5 the Cougars couldn't put another away, leaving a 1-1 tied game.
The Cougars will be back on the road Friday, Nov. 4 at Citrus College with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. before returning to Cougar field for a Tuesday night game against Antelope Valley College on Nov. 8. The Cougars will host a 'Sophomore Night' ceremony prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff.
