Alyson Dees

Alyson Dees serves as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Bakersfield College, where she brings energy, experience, and a deep love for the game to the Renegade volleyball program. Known for her ability to connect with student-athletes, she is dedicated to fostering growth both on and off the court—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

A proud Bakersfield native, Coach Dees first made her mark as a standout athlete at Garces Memorial High School before continuing her playing career at Bakersfield College. As a Renegade, she earned Western State Conference First Team All-Conference honors as a freshman and went on to be named Western State Conference Player of the Year and a two-time AVCA All-American. She later transferred to Purdue University Northwest, where she continued to compete and grow as an NCAA student-athlete.

After completing her playing career, Dees transitioned naturally into coaching. She served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Purdue Northwest, gaining valuable experience in collegiate-level coaching and recruiting, while also helping to guide and mentor athletes at the highest level. After earning her Master of Science in Psychology, she returned to her alma mater, where she now brings that same passion and commitment to the BC program—focused on building a team culture rooted in confidence, mental toughness, and the ability to stay present and composed under pressure.

Coach Dees believes volleyball is more than a sport—it’s a powerful vehicle for personal growth. Her mission at Bakersfield College is to develop strong, self-aware women who can take the lessons learned through competition and apply them to all aspects of their lives, while also helping athletes reach the next level in their playing and personal journeys.
