BAKERSFIELD, CA - Renegade Athletics is proud to announce the of Athletes of the Week, this week’s (11/1-11/7):
Kya Jones (Freshman) Volleyball
The freshman has been sitting comfortable after missing five games in the beginning of the season as the Renegades libero. Jones helped her team sweep (3-0) Glendale College on Friday, Oct. 28th and also assisted in securing head coach Carl Ferreira's 500th career win. Kya finished the night with 23 digs, which was a season high she has scored twice so far. Currently, the freshman is leading the team with 206 digs on the season.
Adrian Sandoval (Sophomore) Men's Soccer
The sophomore stand out helped lift his team to a shutout win against Canyons (3-0) on Friday, October 28th with a goal. Earlier in the week, Sandoval assisted two goals the helped BC tie the game against Antelope Valley. Currently, the forward is tied for the most goals on the team (9) but leads with six assists.
Volleyball will play their sophomore night on Friday, November 4th at home before heading into post season in two weeks. The team is currently 10-8 on the season.
Men's soccer hosts Citrus College also on Friday for a 4:00pm kickoff and will play their final home match on November 11th for sophomore day before heading into post season. Soccer is currently 6-6-5 on the season.
