BAKERSFIELD, CA - Renegade Athletics is proud to announce the Athletes of the Week, this week (03/01-03/7):

Tearra Haney (Sophomore) women's track and field

Tearra Haney placed first in the hammer throw, discus, and javelin which were meet records at the Saddleback invitational. She received 3rd in the shot put. Her discus throw is currently top in the state and is a new school record, breaking the old record set in 2001. Haney scored 38 points to help BC's women to a 3rd-place finish.

Edgar Merlos (Sophomore) Men's track and field

Edgar Merlos placed second at the Saddleback invitational with a mark that ranks him first in the Western State Conference and fourth in both Southern Cals and State. He scored 8 points to help BC to a 6th-place finish.

Men's and Women's track and field will head out to Occidental/LBCC for the weekend. The team will host the BC relays and multis on March 18th.
