GCC WBB continues winning ways with 65-39 win over Bakersfield College for 11th straight victory Jan. 20; are tied for WSC South lead at 4-0 and are 16-2 overall
The GCC Women's Basketball Team won its 11th straight game Saturday Jan. 20 against Bakersfield College but continued to serve notice that they are the team to beat in the Western State Conference Southern Division. The 65-39 win over the visitors not only improved its co-leading WSC record to 4-0 and 16-2 overall but served notice to its rivals with its fourth straight conference win by over 20 points.
 
Ranked No. 5 in Southern California and No. 8 in the state, the Lady Vaqs had only one player score in double Figueres as freshman Malia Ulery had 15 points, five assists and two steals. Paola Gorgeiz had a team high 11 rebounds, five offensives, and Kaitlyn Key had eight points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Osanna Tirityan chipped in with seven points, five rebounds and four assists. 
 
GCC hits the road Wednesday Jan. 24 for a key matchup against WSC South Co-Leader Citrus College at 7 pm on the Owls home floor and host College of the Canyons Saturday Jan. 27 at 3 pm in the Verdugo Gym.
