GCC Women's Basketball edges closer to WSC South Title with 73-35 win over Bakersfield College Feb. 14; Now 11-0 in conference and up two games with three to play.
The numbers don't lie and they are impressive for the GCC Women's Basketball Team. They are now 11-0 in WSC South play after beating Bakersfield College Feb. 14 for their 18th straight win this season and are 23-2 overall. 13 players took the floor and played for Glendale and just one player played more than 20 minutes. Glendale is now ranked No. 4 in Southern California and No. 7 in the state.
 
Cherilyn Legaspi led all scorers with 17 points off the bench in just 16 minutes of playing time and hit five 3's to place GCC. Lisette Meza added nine points, Malia Ulery had nine points and five assists and Maribel Rodriguez and Kylie Sears had eight points each. Osanna Tirityan had eight rebounds as did Rodriguez and Kaitlynn Key had six rebounds added six rebounds and four assists.
 
The Lady Vaqs will get a chance to clinch a tie for the WSC South Title Saturday Feb. 17 against second place Citrus College that brings a 9-2 conference mark into the game.
