GCC Softball honors sophomores and ends regular season with 3-2 home win over Bakersfield College April 23
On a day that the sophomores from the GCC softball team were playing their final regular season game together, the Lady Vaqs played one of their best games of the year and capped off the celebratory day with a 3-2 win over Bakersfield College April 23 at the Glendale Sports Complex. Glendale concluded the regular season at 19-15 overall and 7-5 in the WSC South.

While the sophomore celebration for Lilly Brito, Mya Chacon, Natasha Cohen, Torii Forsberg and Angelica Saldana was the highlight of the day for many, Glendale quickly took a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly RBI by Savannah Alvarez, an RBI single by Saldana and an RBI Triple by Emma Mendoza. Torii Forsberg was once again a standout on the mound and she got the complete game win and scattered eight hits and struck out three and also doubled at the plate as the Glendale defense played well behind her to bend but not break to secure the victory.
