BAKERSFIELD - For the second time this season the Marauder women's soccer team and Bakersfield College played to a tie, including Friday's 2-2 battle at Bakersfield College.
Alyssa Sanchez scored both goals for AVC, both in the first half, assisted by Lindsey McDermott, giving the Marauders a seemingly comfortable 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
However, AVC's offense was shut out in the second half and the Renegades' (7-5-5, 2-1-3) came to life. Bakersfield scored at 54:18 and only 11 minutes later to tie the score which ended up being the final.
The Marauders (8-3-4, 1-1-3) have three ties in conference play and now trail the Renegades by a half game for second place and one and a half games before conference leader College of the Canyons.
