Owls Face Adversity in Renegade Defeat

Citrus College faced adversity Friday afternoon and battled but came up short in a 2-1 loss to Bakersfield College.

The Owls slip to 9-7-3 overall and 4-4-0 in Western State Conference-South action, while the Renegades improve to 6-9-4 on the year and holds onto its top spot in the conference standings with a 6-9-4 mark.

Eduardo Marquez scored the lone goal for the Owls in the 36th minute, but the Renegades managed to put one away before halftime and tacked on another in the second half.

Citrus faced adversity in the second half after three Owls were shown red cards within a span of five minutes but kept pressing and held the visitors off in the final 20 minutes of the game.

The Owls remain at home to close out the season, hosting Antelope Valley on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
