The highs and lows of the 2923 GCC Men's Soccer season continued with a pair of conference losses to L.A. Pierce College 4-3 on Oct. 17 and 2-0 to Bakersfield College Oct. 20 to fall to 5-9-2 overall and 0-3-1 in WSC South play.
In the match against Pierce at Sartoris Field, goals by Monte Almasi in the first half tied the game at 1-1 and a subsequent goal by J.P. Crispi on an assist by Vince Sanchez at the 39:18 mark tied the game at 2-2 heading into halftime. GCC took a 3-2 lead early in the second half at the 44:10 mark on a goal by Hayk Torosyan on an assist by Crispi but the visitors from Pierce scored two late goals to seal the win. Goalie Tigran Malumyan had five saves and Glendale had 13 shots on goal.
Glendale continues WSC play this week with a 6:30 pm game at College of the Canyons and hosts Citrus College at 2 pm Friday Oct. 27.
