Team Stats
Cuesta Softball concluded its Western State Conference schedule with a game against #3 Bakersfield. Today's game marked the third meeting of the Cougars and Renegades this season and Cuesta drew first blood in all three games. Today for the third straight time against Bakersfield, Leftfielder Sydney Doherty (pict) reached to leadoff the game and was eventually driven in by Third Baseman Dayna Manser (pict). Doherty singled to open the game and Manser followed with an RBI-double. Doherty's initial tally was equaled by Bakersfield in the next frame, however the score remained knotted at 1-1 until the 6th inning. In the 6th inning, the Renegades scored three runs on four hits to take the lead for good, 4-1. Cuesta managed only two more hits after the first inning and Pitcher Sam Cabrera (pict) took the hard luck loss, despite mostly containing the Renegades explosive offense. Cuesta fell to 11-22 overall and is a half-game out of 4th place in the Western State Conference. The Cougars end the season tomorrow (1/3 PM) with a doubleheader in Glendora against Citrus.
