BC Falls to Santa Barbara

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College volleyball team put up a fight but came up empty against Santa Barbara City College on Friday night.

Playing their final non-league match of the season, the visiting Renegades were swept by the Vaqueros 25-14, 25-22, 25-17.

Alexandria Johnson and Brianna Bowyer had 9 kills each to pace No. 24 BC, which dropped its third match in a row.

Aubree Dees chipped in 17 assists and nine digs, and Kya Jones had a team-high 17 digs for the Renegades, who only managed a hitting percentage of .192% compared to .326% for Santa Barbara, winners of three of their last four matches.

BC next takes the court on Wednesday when they travel to Citrus for the start of Western State South play.
