Bakersfield Goes 5-0 in Conference with a Win over AVC

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College volleyball team made quick work of visiting Antelope Valley College on Wednesday night.

The No. 25 ranked Renegades swept the Marauders 25-12, 25-15, 25-12 to remain undefeated in Western State-South Conference play.

BC dominated all three sets in winning its fifth match in a row.

Brianna Bowyer had 14 kills, and Stevie Yursik added 11 kills for the Renegades, who had a .289 kill percentage as a team.

Defensively, BC was led by Kya Jones (25 digs) and Aubree Dees (14 kills).

Jones also paced the Renegades in aces with 5. Faith Ward added four aces.

Dees led the team in assists with 22.

BC (9-5, 5-0 WSC) currently sits atop the WSC-South standings, 1 ½ games ahead of second place Santa Monica (3-1 WSC) and Glendale (3-1 WSC).

The Renegades will travel to Glendale for a match next Wednesday at 6 p.m. That tilt will complete the first half of league play for BC, which is 5-1 at the Gil Bishop Sports Center this season and 3-2 on the road.
