Women's Volleyball Notches 12th Sweep of the Year

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College women's volleyball team hosted LA Pierce College Friday night in the Gil Bishop Sports Center and came away with their 12th sweep of the season to improve to 18-1 on the season and extend their winning streak to 12 games.

BC jumped out to an early lead in the first set and kept up the momentum en route to a 25-9 victory. LA Pierce came out strong in the beginning of the second set but the Renegades kept composure and won 25-15. Pierce came our strong again to open the third and kept it competitive, but once again BC overcame to win the third 25-16 and take the match.

Leading the way for BC was Penelope Zepeda 11 kills and Jessica Merante with 16 digs.

 

"It's great to have a consistency where we can all play together," said sophomore middle blocker Bianca Logsdon. "We have a really good flow going and a really good connection with all of the girls so I'm really excited to see where we go."

Next up, the Renegades head on the road to face Cuesta College on Wednesday, Oct. 24th at 5pm.
