Bakersfield, CA –The Renegade women's soccer team faced off against Fresno City College on Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Stadium and came away with their first loss of the season.

The first half remained a defensive battle between both schools and the score remained at 0-0 going into halftime.

Fresno was the first to open up the scoring when they found the back of the net in the 50th minute to go up 1-0. In the 60th minute, they scored again to extend their lead to 2-0. Fresno added another goal to go up 3-0 in the 86th minute.

"Really excited the way we started the game", said Head Coach Scott Dameron "Just lost a little bit of that energy that we had. I thought we did a good job of disrupting any rhythm that they had…still really happy with they way we worked and the way we tried to execute what we were doing, but you just can't make mistakes in big games."

With the loss the Renegades move to 5-1 on the season. They will stay at home for their next game on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 pm in Memorial Stadium against Clovis.
