Odalys Espinoza became the first Renegade in 10 years to be named to the All-SoCal team at a recent banquet.
The Bakersfield College Women's Soccer team announced their 2016-2017 post season honorees at a recent banquet, including one honor that hasn't been earned by the team in at least a decade.
Odalys Espinoza was named to the All-Region First Team for Southern California, according to Coach Scott Dameron.
"She's a freshman, which makes it all the more special. We've had a couple of sophomores get the honor in the time I've been here, but she's the first freshman," Coach Dameron said.
Center/Midfielder Candice Schlecht was the last Renegade to earn All-Region honors, back in the 2006-2007 season, according to Coach Dameron.
"That means Odalys was picked to be one of the six or seven best midfielders in the Southern California," Dameron said.
Espinoza wasn't the only Renegade to bring home hardware from the team's post-season fete;
