The Bakersfield College Women's Basketball team (9-7) took a five point lead into halftime, but the Allan Hancock Bulldogs (10-5) battled back to win 58-55 in the opening round of the Hancock Crossover Tournament.

Marissa Figueroa scored 19 points to lead all scorers, but it wasn't enough beat back Hancock's 46.3 percent shooting percentage from the field. 

Destinee Garcia led Hancock with 15 points on 50 percent shooting, while teammate Grace Rosa scored 14 while pulling down nine rebounds. 

Hancock made their size advantage work, pulling down 40 rebounds against BC's 22. 

The Renegades will play Cuesta College (11-6) on day two of the crossover.
