Softball Falls Short on Opening Night

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College softball team fell short, 1-2, to the Santiago Canyon Hawks on opening night at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex. Sophomore Ryleigh Harrison was the starting pitcher for the Renegades and finished the night allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

Breanna Marquez helped get BC their lone run by reaching second base on an error to send home freshman Taylor Crider

The Renegades are hosting three teams at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex over the weekend, Mt. SAC, San Mateo, and Santiago Canyon. Due to wet field conditions from earlier in the week, Bakersfield had to push back a game and will now play a pair of games tomorrow starting at 1:30 pm against the San Mateo Bulldogs and ending with Mt. SAC at 6:30 pm.
