FAHY THROWS NO-HITTER AGAINST OXNARD
Kylee Fahy continued her dominance in the pitching circle and Aryka Chavez hit a first-inning grand slam as the Bakersfield College softball team rolled to a 9-0 Western State Conference-North victory over visiting Oxnard College on Thursday.  Fahy didn't allow a hit and struck out 14 of the 18 batters she faced during the game, which was shortened to five innings due to the eight-run rule.

The Renegades are now 12-2 in their last 14 games. Their only two losses during the month of March were both 1-0.

"Overall, we hit great with runners in scoring position, we pitched well, and we played good defense," BC coach Casey Goodman said. "I'm happy with the way that we're playing."

Oxnard (5-23, 0-8 WSC-North) didn't hit a single ball out of the infield against Fahy, who improved to 21-4 on the season with the victory.

The freshman from Liberty High School has allowed just three runs (two earned) in her last six appearances, a span of 33 2/3 innings pitched.

Chavez's homer was her seventh of the season. That ties her with Alexis Solis for the team lead in that category.

Up next for BC (24-6, 8-1 WSC-North) is a non-league game at Fullerton (13-12) today.
