SOFTBALL SWEEPS WEST HILLS COALINGA

The Rengades swept a double-header from West Hills Coalinga yesterday afternoon.  In game one BC defeated West Hills 7-1, behind a strong pitching effort from McKenna Valencia (3-2). Valencia gave up three hits and one run while striking out 10 over seven innings.  Offensively, the Renegades had twelve hits, led by Naizemarie Ubay 2-4 with a homerun and 4 RBI, Haleigh Hutton 2-5 with 2 RBI and McKenna Valencia 3-4 with 1 RBI.

In game two, Kylee Fahy (7-1) had another solid perfermance in the circle, she allowed only two hits and struck out 10 while recording her third shutout of the year.  BC had another impressive performance at the plate.  Alexis Solis was 2-4 with a homerun ad 4 RBI, Aryka Chavez was 2-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI, Kylee Fahy was 2-4 with a homerun and 3 RBI, McKenna Valencia went 3-3 with an RBI and Yesenia Saldana was 1-3 with an RBI.

With the two wins yesterday, BC improved to 10-3 on the season and are on a six game win streak.  The Renegades also lead the state in homeruns with 12.

The softball team returns to action this Friday for two games in Reedley when they will face College San Mateo at 12 noon and Reedley College at 2:00 PM.
