The Bakersfield College Men's Soccer Team (1-1-1) picked up their first win in nearly 30 years with a 1-0 home victory over College of the Sequoias (1-2) Tuesday in Memorial Stadium.

"It's great to get the first one, but hopefully it's the first of many," Coach Vayron Martinez said.

Adonis Marroquin scored the game's lone goal from the top of the 18 after beating a pair of defenders, and shot across the goal just inside the low far post.

Coach Martinez was also pleased with his goalkeeper's play.

"Frank Arreola had a terrific game, he had at least ten saves, but the ones he made in the end of the game were huge. He made a spectacular save in the closing minutes that kept the score in our favor. He was the man of the match, arguably. Just a great game," Martinez said.
