The Bakersfield College Men's Basketball Team (18-8, 5-0) kept their hopes of repeating as conference champions strong with a solid 83-64 win over LA Pierce (10-15, 1-4) in the Gil Bishop Sports Center Saturday.

Shane Christie led all scorers with 21 points, but was also a menace on defense, racking up six steals and two blocked shots.

Sean Leflore wasn't to be left out of the defensive fun, and continued his season long campaign of causing nightmares for would-be scorers. Leflore pulled down nine rebounds, blocked four shots, and added another layer to his team-first play by distributing five assists.

BC took a seven point lead into halftime, but fully pulled away in the second half and erased any hope of a Pierce uprising.

The Renegades play Santa Monica on the road Wednesday, February 8th at 5pm. Their last matchup ended with a BC victory at home; but it didn't come cheap. The Corsairs brought their "A" game and forced the 'Gades into double overtime, where they won a memorable 105-100 slugfest in the Gil Bishop Sports Center.
