The Bakersfield College Renegades Football team (6-2, 2-1) hosts Ventura College (6-2, 3-0) in a battle for supremacy in the National Northern League today at 1pm in historic Memorial Stadium.

Ventura College is undefeated in league play, largely thanks to Division one kickback Jake Luton at quarterback. Luton averaging almost 300 yards and also leads the state in touchdown passes with 26, but also holds the top spot in interceptions with 13, which Renegade Color Commentator Kenny Calvin says could be the key to a Renegade victory.

"I feel like the defense is due for a touchdown," the former BC defensive back said, "And I feel like that could end up being the key to this game."

Bakersfield isn't without it's weapons, though.

Multipurpose threat Derrick Vickers is a scoring monster and has racked up over 1700 yards on through the by air, land, and sea....and he's also scored 11 touchdowns making him the most prolific turf-burner in the state.

Luton once threw four interceptions in the first half against Mt. SAC earlier this season, and BC will want to pressure him into mistakes, but the Oregon Beaver-to-be has many receiving threats as well as a handful of tight ends who can block and pull down passes, so they have their work cut out.

Renegade fans should expect to see Freshman Cesar De Leon under center again today, but shouldn't be surprised if Sophomore Dalton Gallis gets called into action for any reason, including a change of pace.

Kickoff is at 1p and tickets are available at Vallitix.com or at the gate.
