BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College baseball team secured a dominant 14-4 victory over Antelope Valley in a home game that showcased their offensive prowess.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the Renegades broke the standstill with three runs, highlighted by Luis Fuentes' three-run RBI. Antelope Valley responded with a run in the top of the second, but Bakersfield added three more runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 6-1.
AVC closed the gap with another run at the top of the sixth, but BC's offense exploded in the bottom of the sixth, scoring eight runs to put the game out of reach. Trevor Spainhoward and Luke Shaw each contributed three-run RBIs during the inning, powering Bakersfield to a commanding lead.
On the mound, Jordan Mora delivered a solid performance for Bakersfield, pitching eight innings and allowing only two earned runs on eight hits while striking out five batters. Mora's efficient pitching helped keep Antelope Valley's offense in check for most of the game.
With this win, Bakersfield improved to 12-22 overall and 9-8 in conference play, while Antelope Valley fell to 17-17 overall and 6-11 in conference play. They will wrap up the series at AVC tomorrow before returning home to wrap up conference play against Citrus.
