The Bakersfield College baseball teeam team defeated LA Pierce 6-5, on Friday and LA Mission 8-7 yesterday to improve to (11-14, 6-3) on the season. On Friday, in the win against LA Pierce, Lane Cowan (1-2) got the win. Cowan pitched 8 innings giving up three runs on four hits, while striking out five. Ryan Darbee was 3-5, at the plate, with an RBI. Joe Pineda and Ashanti Ross and Tim Billingsley all had good days at the plate, as well. Pineda was 1-3 with 2 RBI, Ross went 2-4 with an RBI and Billingsley was 2-5 with an RBI.
In the win against LA Mission yesterday Nathan Ortiz (3-1) threw a complete game. Ortiz gave up seven runs (four earned) on 13 hits, while strikiing out six. Kyle Willman and Ryan Darbee led the Renegades at the plate. Willman was 2-5 with 3 RBI and Darbee was 1-4 with 2 RBI.
The baseball team will be home on Tuesday, March 20th when LA Mission visits, for a 3:00 PM game.
