The 2016 Renegade Beach Volleyball Team is the first in Bakersfield College's history, and many player. 

"It's one of the fastest growing collegiate sports, and it's the first year the NCAA is recognizing the sport with a Natonal Championship tournament," Associate Athletic Director Keith Ford said, "That means more transfer and scholarship opportunities for our student athletes, and more opportunities to  in the Renegade Tradition." 

With the addition of Beach Volleyball now, and Men's Soccer in the Fall, Bakersfield College Athletics will offer 20 intercollegiate sports with over 500 student athletes participating per academic year. 

The Beach Volleyball format involves five teams of two players each, seeded one through five simliar to tennis.
