Women's Soccer Only Needs One Goal to Top Bakersfield

VALLEY GLEN, CA - Women's Soccer needed only one goal to successfully top Bakersfield in a Tuesday night Western State Conference win.

Five minutes into the game the Monarchs stormed down the field made three passes across the field - Pheonix Becerra crossed it to Andrea Martin who tipped it to Mia Aguilar who kicked it in the goal.

While the Monarchs got some other close shots off, they were unsuccessful in getting it in goal.

L.A. Valley goal keeper Sara Paul was an integral part of keeping Bakersfield at zero goals.  She made some incredible saves, pushing the ball over the goal, diving to save a ball shot in the right side of the goal and most importantly, a shot right to her stomach where she toughed it out and stopped the ball.  Paul took a minute to get up from that shot, but bounced back and continued to keep the Renegades at zero goals.

The Monarchs play their last home game on Friday, November 10 at 3 p.m. against Glendale.  It is Sophomore Day so head out and cheer on the Monarchs!
