Citrus College took on the top team in the Western State Conference-South, but dropped a three-set loss (25-16, 25-12, 26-24) to Bakersfield College Friday night.
The Owls drop to 5-17 overall and 2-5 in conference, while the Renegades improve to 11-5 on the year and remain undefeated in conference at 7-0.
Faith Evaro and Miah Soriano each led the Owls with eight kills on the night, while Julia Pitre added six kills. Raegen Johnson dished out 12 assists and Vanessa Marquez added another nine.
Defensively, Johnson led Citrus with 11 digs, followed by Evaro with 10 digs.
The Owls close out the month of October on the road with a match at Santa Monica College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
