BAKERSFIELD, CA - Renegade Athletics is proud to announce the of Athletes of the Week, this week’s (10/11-10/17):

 

Adrian Sandoval (Sophomore) Men's Soccer

The sophomore stand out helped lift his team to a 4-2 win over Canyons at home last week with his first hat trick (3 goals) of the season. Sandoval was directly involved in all 4 goals. Currently, the forward is leading his team in goals with seven total on the season and four assist, Adrian has started in all 12 games. 

Jihad Marks (Sophomore) Football

A sophomore wide receiver from Goodyear, Arizona earned his stripes last week by scoring the game winning touchdown for the Bakersfield College football team. Marks helped the team end an eight-year losing streak to College of the Canyons at their homecoming on Thursday, October 13th, 17-7. The wide reciever scored a 71-yard touchdown pass in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Marks ended the night with a total of 156 yards. 

 

Men's soccer will return home this Friday, Oct. 21 to take on Glendale College and go back on the road next week before returning home in November to start wrapping up their regular season. Their current record is 4-6-3 and the team is still hopeful to host a first round playoff game. Football will be hosting the Ventura Pirates for homecoming this Saturday at Memorial Stadium and head out on the road for the next two games before finishing their regular season at home on November 12th against Allan Hancock.
